VINZ are one of the largest vehicle inspections experts in New Zealand - providing fast, efficient and reliable vehicle inspections and certification.
VINZ engaged Journey to design and develop an end-to-end cloud software solution that would be at the heart of their business operations and client reporting. The challenge was to replace all paper processes and records with a solution that can be used by all key functions in the business.
Vehicle inspectors work in a challenging environment, moving inside and outside, underneath and on top of vehicles. If we were going to replace a decades old paper system it had to be fit for purpose and designed for their world. Through a series of on-sight interviews and observation sessions Journey's UX team developed a user interface and tablet combination that would work in these conditions. We designed it to be robust, simple and supported by physically strong tablet connect to a chest plate. This enabled inspectors to access their device easily even if they were underneath a vehicle.
