Clever Clients: Melodownz

With the country on lockdown and the music scene at a standstill, we got creative with the hugely talented NZ Rapper, Melodownz, to promote his new single ‘Fine’ and build fun engagement between the artist and fans.

Melomayhem.com is an online game inspired by vintage “spacies” style arcade games, from the classic neighbourhood corner during Melo's childhood. The game incorporates classic NZ/Pacific hip hop elements from dodging Vailima bottles to Avondale spiders.

It’s a fun way of connecting with fans - Melo himself said “I was getting bored during isolation so thought creating a game would be a good way to engage with our people around the world and create a nostalgic experience”.

Players submit their high scores in hopes to win a goodie-bag prize selected from Melodownz, and are then prompted to stream the new single.

Melomayhem.com has seen over 6,000 visits with a whopping 50% of all visits leading to a completed game and submitted score, and a huge amount of positive sentiment on social media.
